Werner Tool and Manufacturing Co. Inc. was founded in 1936 with the intent of supplying design, engineering and custom manufacturing to the varied industries located in Detroit, Michigan, which, at the time, was the most industrialized city in the world.

For the first 25 years the company designed and built precision tooling and manufactured product for the automotive, aircraft and food processing industries.

1962 marked the beginning of a new era at Werner.  It was in this year that the company first become involved with the advertising industry.

One of America's leading outdoor advertising operators had visited southern California and observed a new concept known as Tri-Vision®. He immediately saw the potential for such a product in his Midwestern operation.

Unfortunately, the Tri-Vision® display systems of the era were not of sufficient durability to withstand climates less temperate than southern California.

Consequently, Werner tool and Manufacturing was selected to design and manufacture a new Tri-Vision® system with structural integrity and design precision necessary for consistent, dependable long-term operation.

37 YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE ADVERTISING INDUSTRY!

With the introduction of the Werner Tri-Vision® system in 1962, all other designs of the era became obsolete.  The new Werner design was so superior in terms of quality the other manufacturers of similar products ceased operation within a few years.

Since the introduction of that first Tri-Vision® system Werner has utilized the outdoor industries of the United States and Canada as its laboratory.  Literally thousands of Operations Managers have provided us with insights as to the actual, in-the-field utilization of our products.

Every feature of every product which we produce today comes as a direct result of actual, long-term testing.

Because of the good fortune of our longevity in the business, we have been able to study the effect of different environments on our products for over thirty-seven years!
